Natures Face ART is the creative project of Gerhard Hillmann and Natasha Day. We are currently living in Far North Queensland, situated above Cairns on top of a mountain range. Being in the middle of a World Heritage Rainforest provides all the inspiration we need to create imagery and run our Fine Art Gallery. We also make and sell Hand-Made Art Cards and Limited Edition prints at local markets when the weather permits. Our artwork can also be bought through various local outlets or by contacting us directly.

My obsession is creativity, I find it’s an endless pursuit of observing, creating and sharing everyday magical moments in our lives. I attempt to stimulate peoples imagination and draw attention to elements in the natural world we are all part of.

“Organic Photo Montage is the term I use when trying to describe my style of creating images. The visual image is a language of creation, transcending written language barriers and providing a universal medium we can all understand. It’s not limited to one persons meaning or concept and is always open to interpretation. The natural world has its own language which I am trying to acknowledge in my artwork.

In 2007 I returned to Far North Queensland with my partner Natasha who I met in Melbourne. After a holiday up to Cairns she didn't need much convincing to leave the city behind. When I returned to my place of origin I had been away for 15 years and it felt great to be back. I was born in Kuranda which is on top of the moutain range just above Cairns. Growing up in the rainforest, diving on the reefs and endlessly camping gave me an appreciation of the natural world and the unlimited creativity it releases.

I have studied Traditional and Contemporary Photography, Art and Design in San Francisco,Germany, South Australia and Melbourne resulting indegrees and certificates. However, cities don’t interest me right now as I find myself retracing steps I took many years ago along the rivers and through the bush. Wait a while, leaches, crocodiles and mould bring back memories of how it was and still is up here.
