Right now, I am on a creative journey to express through my images the raw natural beauty of the tropics and humanities interaction with nature. By spending time immersed in these unique places I observe and absorb all of these experiences like a sponge. Every picture I create is an attempt to acknowledge these natural wonders as I respond to them in a visual way. Currently one of my creative projects I am working on is a childrens book which will be completed, published and released in 2011.

My interpretation of the landscape Is a very personal and direct response to what i see, feel, experience and imagine. I strongly believe we are all spiritual beings having a human experience and if nature is art, then art is my nature.

Ultimately, I aim to promote a deeper respect of the natural world and encourage the idea that we are part of our environment and not separate. Being aware of what is happening around us and helping people see how unique the earth and its creatures really are is my main focus. Through observation and understanding a natural desire of conservation and sustainability may emerge from within us.

When people experience and feel a real connection with their environment they are more likely to make an effort to live in a sustainable way.  Don’t go through life, grow through life. Through my pictures I hope to encourage a desire to respect all living things in a compassionate way and discourage environmental destruction for personal gain.

I have been creating pictures for over 20 years as an artist and photography is my medium of choice. In that time photography has continued to evolve in a progressive-exciting way allowing me to express my ideas and observations through the medium. My creative style of photography is a direct result of study, experimentation, persistence and quite possibly obsession. ORGANIC PHOTO MONTAGE is a form of fine art photography which has taken me many years to develop and it continues to evolve in an exciting progressive way. Every artwork is unique and many ideas are explored as traditional fine art skills (film) are merged with modern technology (digital) in a seamless way. As you immerse yourself in one of these artworks; subtle, intricate and vibrant details may suddenly appear, making the invisible visible, as the more you look the more you see.

“Art does not reproduce what we see; rather it makes us see”.
Paul Klee

Through observation and patience unique details in nature become visible and this art of seeing inspires me to continue creating images. I construct organic photo montages which attempt to capture the essence or feeling of a place from the inside out, hopefully stimulating peoples imagination and curiosity of the natural world.

For many years I have been exhibiting my imagery around the world in galleries and public art spaces. Every year I release a series of images  to the public as limited editions. They are collected around the world by many people and all come with registered certificates of authenticity to validate the artwork as an original closed edition. Archival printing processes and materials are used to guarantee a museum quality long-life investment. Many of my artworks have been used on book covers, record covers, and within various publications around the world.

I believe the visual image is a unique form of personal communication which goes beyond linguistics by transcending written languages and is open to individual interpretation. Personally I am interested in the creative space where reality, imagination and science all merge to form unique artworks; where the more you look, the more you see.  A celebration of life which reflects magical moments of natural beauty in what can only be described as a visual buffet of life experiences. All the images are a reactive-response to watching things grow. The creative process allows me to interpret this journey through life and communicate with people in a unique refreshing way.

Ultimately, I want the viewer to look into one of my images and feel they are looking through a window into another world. Gradually the viewer  may start to recognise elements in the images and realise that it is in fact the world they are part of. Nearly all of the subject matter in my imagery is alive so I want people to feel the images are breathing and pulsating with life. full of intricate detail I try to create them from the inside out using depth, colour, movement and form to draw the viewer in.

The bright, saturated high frequency colours are often used in the images to remind us that all living things are made up of the whole spectrum, more than we can see. The really vivid bright colors hint at higher states of consciousness; where vision is both internal and external as intricate detail reveals itself in harmonic compositions. This balance between internal and external forces and forms helps us realise that we are more connected with the environment than we could ever realised. It is up to our imagination to join the dots, fill in the gaps and allow the true potential of reality to be revealed.
